Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author M. C. Beaton’s beloved Agatha Raisin is back on the case and once again investigating where she probably shouldn’t.

After leaving behind her successful public relations career in London, Agatha settled in the picturesque Cotswolds and built a thriving private detective agency. But the peaceful village atmosphere is threatened when wealthy developer Lord Bellington announces plans to replace the community garden with a housing estate.

When Agatha and her friend Sir Charles Fraith try to persuade him to reconsider, Lord Bellington dismisses their concerns and shows little regard for the villagers. So when news of his death appears in the local paper two weeks later, few residents are inclined to mourn.

The village is relieved when Bellington’s son, Damian, inherits the estate and abandons the controversial development plans. Unfortunately, the police suspect Damian may have had more to gain from his father’s death than anyone realizes.

Convinced of his innocence, Damian hires Agatha to find the real killer. As she investigates, she uncovers a long list of suspects, each with a motive for wanting Lord Bellington gone.

Complicating matters further is Gerald, a handsome retired detective who has recently moved to the area. Although Agatha is intrigued by him, her interest cools when she sees him kissing another woman. But when that woman is later found murdered, Gerald joins Agatha and her team in the search for the killer.

Together, they must unravel a tangled web of grudges, secrets, and rivalries before another victim is claimed.

Pushing Up Daisies continues the tradition of this beloved mystery series.
