Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House
Synopsis
Another witty mystery featuring the quirky, crime-solving sleuth Agatha Raisin.
Fresh from an extended stay in London, Agatha Raisin returns to the Cotswolds only to be greeted by endless rain and a familiar sense of boredom. Her routine is soon interrupted when her handsome new neighbor, Paul Chatterton, appears on her doorstep. Although Agatha tries to resist his charms, his sparkling black eyes and thirst for adventure quickly draw her into another mystery.
Paul has heard about Agatha’s reputation as the village detective and soon persuades her to investigate a strange case involving a supposedly haunted house. The elderly Mrs. Witherspoon claims that whispers, footsteps, and a chilling white mist are tormenting her home, but the police have found no explanation.
While skeptical neighbors dismiss the disturbances as a cry for attention, Agatha and Paul suspect something far more sinister is at work. Their suspicions are confirmed when Mrs. Witherspoon is found dead under mysterious circumstances.
As Agatha digs deeper into the case, she discovers that the truth behind the haunting may be far more dangerous than any ghost.
