Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet

It’s a purr-fect crime in the Cotswolds.

Former London public relations agent Agatha Raisin still hasn’t adjusted to village life, where the most exciting evening activity is often a meeting of the Ladies Society. And after her attempts to win the affection of her handsome neighbor, James Lacey, have gone nowhere, Agatha eagerly turns her attention to the town’s new veterinarian—a charming and eligible bachelor.

Although her cat Hodge is perfectly healthy, Agatha drags him to the vet in the hope of sparking a romance. Unfortunately, Hodge’s ordeal is for nothing when the veterinarian is soon found dead beside a nervous racehorse.

The police dismiss the death as a tragic accident, but Agatha isn’t convinced. She persuades the reluctant James Lacey to join her investigation, hoping amateur detective work will relieve the boredom of village life.

But as Agatha digs deeper into the mystery, her meddling begins to annoy dangerous people. Before long, her curiosity turns a simple investigation into a deadly game.
