Busy Body
Synopsis
Agatha Raisin has never cared much for forced holiday cheer, but the village of Carsely takes great pride in its traditional Christmas celebrations. This year, however, the festive spirit is under threat.
Mr. John Sunday, an officer with the Cotswold Health and Safety Board, arrives determined to eliminate every perceived hazard in the community. His strict rulings irritate villagers at every turn, but outrage reaches its peak when he bans the beloved Christmas tree that is traditionally displayed atop the church tower.
Before long, Mr. Sunday is found dead, face down among the petunias.
With nearly everyone in the village having a reason to dislike the victim, Agatha is confronted with a daunting investigation. As she sorts through grudges, threats, and holiday tensions, she discovers that uncovering the truth may be more difficult than finding a Christmas miracle.
To solve the case, Agatha must untangle a web of suspects before the killer has a chance to strike again.
