By this point, I was completely invested in Boxxy’s journey. One of my last thoughts after finishing this book was, “Oh my gosh… how many fangirls is this mimic going to end up with by the end of the series?” They just keep piling up, and the funniest part is that he has absolutely no idea why. He’s unintentionally collecting admirers while being completely oblivious to the chaos he’s causing, and it never stops being funny. That’s one of the things I love most about this series. Boxxy continues to grow stronger and more capable, but he never stops being a monster with a completely different way of looking at the world. His innocence and single-minded focus make even the strangest situations hilarious. The story continues to expand in ways that keep surprising me, and the progression never feels stale. There are plenty of exciting moments, but the humor is what keeps me coming back. I found myself laughing just as much as I was wondering how on earth Boxxy was going to survive whatever impossible situation came next. And, of course, Jeff Hays absolutely nails the narration once again. His performance is a huge part of what makes this series so addictive. By the end of this book, there wasn’t any question anymore—I was officially binge-listening the series and couldn’t wait to see what ridiculous adventure Boxxy stumbled into next.
